From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 4:17 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, Jesus came preaching the same message as John the Baptist, confirming the message that John was his Ambassador. However, the ministry of Jesus Christ has an eternal life benefit when we return back to GOD through His Son Jesus Christ.

Scripture reveals to us that Christ Jesus chose His first four disciples to follow Him as he begun ministering to the people. These were ordinary men, fisherman to be exact, not well educated and with mediocre means. However, they all had one thing in common aside from being fishermen. They were obedient to the call of the Lord. Just like Abraham, they heard the voice of the Lord, left behind

everything and everyone. They left a life they were familiar with and accustom too, to follow Christ without hesitation.

As Jesus went about teaching, preaching and healing all manner of illness and diseases, He developed a large following of people, the word says, multitude of people. I often wondered about the people who followed Christ Jesus; did they follow Him because they were after eternal life, or did they just want to be part of the crowd.

Let us examine ourselves; First, what did we give-up, leave behind, or walk away from when we were called by Christ Jesus; Secondly, are we really following Jesus, or are we just part of a Church crowd; and lastly, the Word of GOD is clear and without question; for those of us who have said we answered the call have we tried to compromise in the manner of the men Christ selected to follow Him;  one saying to let me bury my father, and the other said let me bid farewell to my family.

True Disciples of Christ will come to the knowledge that it is for GOD I live and for GOD I shall die, nothing and no one else really matters. For in response to the two requests, Jesus said unto them "Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of GOD." Luke 9:60 and, "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back is fit for the kingdom of GOD." Luke 9:62

We must understand the commitment and the obedience required to walk in righteousness, we are either all in or not in at all. This is truly a matter of the heart.

O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever.

1 Chronicles 16:34 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, as the Children of the Most High GOD we ought to always give thanks unto the LORD, as this verse of scripture states the LORD is good and His mercy endures forever. We thank GOD for being so wonderful towards us especially when He has to administer His mercy upon us.

These words of praise uttered by King David came about because the LORD had allowed the Ark of the Covenant to be returned to the Children of Israel and be placed inside a tent that King David had prepared for it. Once the Ark was in place David offered burnt offerings to the LORD and when he finished the offering to GOD he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

The Children of Israel worship the LORD in song and praise thanking Him for all his wonderful works; how GOD provided victory for them in their defeat of the Philistines. As it is written earlier in the 16th Chapter of 1 Chronicles David reminded the Children of Israel to seek the LORD'S face continually and to remember His marvelous works.

Much too often we lose sight of what the LORD has delivered us from or through. We fail to thank GOD for to the many blessings primarily because we fall into the mindset of entitlement, as opposed to humility. The parable of the Prodigal Son as recorded in Luke Chapter 15:11-32, gives an example of entitlement. The young son was so eager to receive the inheritance from his father that he became foolish and arrogantly went about receiving it before his time. However, because of the love his Father had towards him, the father granted his son's wishes and gave him the inheritance early. Of course we know the Prodigal Son squandered the inheritance, and had to reluctantly return to his Father's home in a humiliated state.

One of the points of the parable is the Father of the Prodigal Son had his arms open to receive his son back. He showed mercy towards him in the same manner as our Heavenly Father does for us whenever we falter in our behavior. "O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever." Amen...

And thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, this commandment given to the Children of Israel was GOD'S covenant message to them stating that they must wholeheartedly commit to Him their mind, body and soul. They were instructed to teach this covenant message to the future generations of children; to inform them that the Lord GOD Almighty is the one true GOD for the Children of Israel.

We the Chosen Children of GOD, the gentiles have this same commandment message issued by our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ when He stated in the Twenty Second Chapter of Matthew; 37 Jesus said unto him, "Thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40

We must understand that GOD is to be loved first and foremost before anyone or anything in this world. We have to acknowledge and understanding that to love GOD on His terms requires total submission to the Will of GOD. This means that we have to become so intense with the things that matter to GOD that when something displeases GOD, it has the same effect on us His Beloved Children.

When our relationship with the LORD becomes (ALL) all Heart, all Mind, and all Soul as stated in the scriptures; then and only then will the matters of this world become secondary in our life, and GOD the Father, GOD the Son and GOD the Holy Spirit (The GODHEAD) will have total Authority in our lives. As The Born Again Believers in Christ Jesus "ALL" means everything, submitting every ounce of our being.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, the way to perfect peace is to develop an ongoing intimate relationship with GOD through His Son Christ Jesus. All who accept and receive Christ Jesus will be safe and have the assurance of knowing that they have the favor of GOD our Heavenly Father in their life.

It is comforting to know that as the Chosen of GOD, inward peace, out ward peace, and peace with all of life's situations are benefits, and privileges that we have through our relationship with our

Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. If we continually seek the face of the LORD and keep our minds focus on what really matters to GOD, He will strengthen us with a zest and zeal to be able to press forward when life's difficulties rise up against us.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:13 these words of encouragement "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Apostle Paul was saying this because he wanted the people of Philippi to know that regardless of his situation of being in prison at the time these words were penned; Paul was content in knowing that through Christ he was victorious in all things because his mind was conditioned to the situation of the WORD and not the situation of the world.

Whenever we operate in the Faith that is in us, we will be capable of such an abundance of strength through Christ that we will accomplish everything GOD assigns us to do. "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 The last five words recorded Isaiah 26:3 says: "because He trust in thee" it is a beautiful thing to have the LORD'S trust.

Thou has granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.
Job 10:12 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, Job in this verse of scripture is now recognizing the favor of GOD. This came about after Job began accusing GOD of abusing His omnipotent power in the earlier verses of the 10th Chapter of Job. Do know that God will never misuse His Authority against his Chosen however as in Job's case we will face the temptations of this life as well as the trials.

When we grasp the fullness of GOD we will come to understand that He is the creator and the sustainer of Life. The Holy One whose very breathe have been breathed into the nostrils of man, whose Spirit rest rules and abides in the life of the Believer as well as the non-believer; we will become grateful for GOD granting us favor each and every day He visits us by preserving our spirit with each new day of our life.

God is the Father of us all Christ, and the Holy Spirit, and He has made us living souls who have the power of reason; He gave us this life and granted us favor, and do know that life in Christ Jesus is the favor of the LORD. So let us not fret when things of this world go affray or haywire; let us not curse GOD and die as was requested of Job by his wife. "Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse GOD, and die." Job 2:9

We ought to be grateful for the opportunity to glorify GOD as we live to do His Will; "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love GOD, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 Job was called and had a purpose, the question remains for us are you called to a purpose?

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of GOD: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 John 3:1

Scripture Insight

Beloved, when Jesus becomes our Lord and Savior, GOD adopts us as his children, endowed with power, and dignity. The world knowns not this genuine follower of Christ because their eyes are blinded with a false understanding of true godly fellowship.

True believer purifies themselves for GOD, instead of polluting themselves with the standards of the worlds system of Christianity. We are not to be partakers of the sins of this world; Christ came for this very reason that we may be removed from the transgressions of sin.

We must resist professing Christ Jesus as our Savior while dabbling in the playground with Satan, all the while expecting to gain the favor and promises set aside for the (Children) Sons of GOD. Let us not deceive ourselves and let no one persuade you to believe differently; whosoever is born of GOD, sin does not have any dominion over them.

When the Holy Spirit dwells in or resides in us the (Children) Sons of GOD, sin therefore has no place in our lives. However, let us not be foolish and believe that we will not fall short and sin occasionally. The world will try to condemn us when this happens, and they will label us as a hypocrite because they are spiritually blind; however sinful behavior should not reign supreme in life of the Believer.

We are the righteousness of GOD through the shed blood of his Son Christ Jesus; we are Children of the Most High GOD, so let us walk in this authority. Jesus said, "Behold, thou art made whole, sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." John 5:14

"Through Christ Jesus we are made Whole"

He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD required of thee, but to do justly, and love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy GOD?

Micah 6:8

Scripture Insight

Beloved, the Prophet Micah is explaining in this verse of scripture how the LORD GOD Almighty has demonstrated to us what is required of us to live righteously in His sight. We may ask ourselves what is GOD really saying to us in the scripture when He says; "O man, what is good." GOD is revealing to us that He desires us to be pleasing or right in His eyes. GOD is the source of all goodness and requires us to conform to the righteousness of Christ Jesus in whom He was well pleased with. "And a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17

When we the Children of the Most High GOD seek to do what is right or pleasing in the eyes of GOD we must understand this translates into how we treat the people of GOD. We have the

responsibility of not misrepresent the Kingdom of GOD by being fair in our character. We must always show mercy towards people and their situations regardless of our feeling on the matter or the circumstances at hand. We are required to walk humbly with all humility which is one of the greatest characteristic of Christ Jesus. If we say we know the LORD, our behavior should not display a spirit of arrogance, but rather spirit of LOVE.

GOD requires us to have an ongoing intimate personal relationship with Him; this walk will transform the way we relate to others. 34 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love for one to another." John 13:34-35

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 14:12 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, what GOD is saying in this verse of scripture that many of us believe we know what is best for us and our love ones? However we make choices that may seem right by our own standards and the vast majority of society, but are far from the righteous standards of GOD. We tend to follow the ways of the world and live by the majority rules method, only to find out in the end there is devastation and destruction.

Jesus said: "Enter into the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:13-14 NASB

Therefore our choices and the decision we make are a matter of life and death, we can choose the majority rules method or live by the statues and standards of The LORD GOD Almighty and follow in the footsteps of Christ Jesus and live. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of GOD is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD" Romans 6:23 KJV

Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none on earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but GOD is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Psalm 73:25-26

Scripture Insight

Beloved, Psalm 73 is recorded as being written by Asaph who was appointed by King David as one of the principle officials in charge of liturgical music used in public worship in Jerusalem. In his writing of this Psalm we find Asaph rejoicing over the fact that the Lord GOD is good, and He loves, protects, and prospers His own.

Asaph struggled with his belief in the goodness of GOD simply because in his mind he could not understand how the unsaved seemed to be prospering more so than those whom put their trust in the LORD. Asaph like most people who attend Church today misinterpreted being blessed as having the finer things in life, material substance. His personal relationship with the Lord GOD Almighty had not manifested until later in the chapter of Psalm.

Asaph like many musicians or leaders of Music Ministry in Churches throughout this country are appointed or hired for the position in the Church body but do not understand the benefit of being the Body of Christ. Until they encounter the TRUTH, the Living WORD, The Son of GOD, Jesus Christ there can be no understanding of the 73rd Psalm.

Our hearts and flesh will fail us but for the Children of the Most High GOD; He is the strength of our heart, and our portion forever. Meaning the heart can only be strengthened through the righteousness of Jesus Christ, and through Him we have everlasting life because Christ is our portion forever. Asaph found and accepted the TRUTH; my prayer for us is that our hearts be established before GOD non-blamable in holiness, and for our love toward one another to increase through the love we have for Christ Jesus. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

Job 22:21-22

Scripture Insight

Beloved in these verses of scripture we find Eliphaz one of the three friends of Job uttering these words to him in an effort to get Job to accept his responsibility for bringing the dramatic change to his life. Eliphaz had no idea of Job's innocence, and made accusations against him without substantial facts to support them. Eliphaz came to the conclusion about Job's situation solely based on the natural aspect of what he could see happening to Job in the present state.

However, we know GOD was allowing these things to happen to Job as a way to show Satan that regardless of the amount of influence and affliction he placed in Job’s life; when you are in GOD’s hands nothing and no one can remove you from them. Jesus said in the 10th Chapter of John,

29 “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.” John 10:29-30

Eliphaz was encouraging Job to repent for the alleged sins he committed and to embrace GOD’S Law and by doing so he believed this would bring about restitution. This was a noble act on the part of Job’s friend, however the fact remains that GOD’S plan for Job’s life was to use him as an example for us today.

As Children of the Most High GOD we too will come face to face with the circumstances and situations in our own lives which rock the very foundation we have been accustom to. We will have friends and family members like Eliphaz make accusations against us without substantial proof, but be encouraged to stand firm on what you know to be the truth. 31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth; and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a GOD of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.

Isaiah 30:18

Scripture Insight

The Prophet Isaiah is communicating a powerful message of restoration for the people of GOD who have been instructed to wait on the LORD. There are many times in the life of the Believer that we tend to make decisions on our own without seeking the approval of GOD. We want results or answer immediately, while failing to wait to hear from GOD. In the 30th Chapter of Isaiah we see here the Children of Israel being rebellious towards GOD, and putting their trust in the Pharaoh to provide protection for them.

How many times have we the Children of the Most High GOD done the same, putting our trust in man instead of GOD? The Word of the LORD says it this way in the very center of the Bible: "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put your confidence in man." (Psalm 118:8) How ironic is it that this particular scripture appears in the center of GOD'S Word; this only solidifies that GOD has to be the middle or center of everything we say and do.

Isaiah lets the Children of Israel know the benefit of waiting on the LORD, he informs them first that GOD would be gracious toward them; secondly He would be exalt by them, thirdly He would grant them mercy and finally they would escape the judgment of GOD. 27"Zion shall be redeemed with judgment and her converts with righteousness. 28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed." Isaiah 1:27-28

We too will benefit when we incline our ears to hear from the LORD and wait for His instruction. Let us be reminded that as Children of the Most High GOD we should make every effort not to react to the adverse conditions of life, but our response must imply the Wisdom and Knowledge of GOD. "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalm 37:4

Scripture Insight

Beloved, as the Children of the Most High GOD, we are well aware of many afflictions that will come to our lives. However, if we delight ourselves in the LORD, if we truly embrace the Kingdom, GOD will grant us the desires of His heart as well as ours. Now we have to understand we cannot just offer to GOD lip service when it comes to our relationship with His Son Christ Jesus, it has to be a life and death mature walk in Faith.

There is reason we "The Born Again" have to be all in with Jesus Christ, is revealed in the 7th Chapter of Matthew which declares: 21"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23

When we incline ourselves to do the will of LORD and begin to live our lives righteous and with humility, GOD will incline His ear to hear and answer our prayers. He will strengthen our resolve, deliver us from the wiles of the enemy, and provide us with the desires of our heart. As the Children of the Most High GOD, do know that all of our needs are provided for us according to the riches that are in Christ Jesus. Therefore, when it comes down to the things we want and desire for our life; we should understand and recognize they are contingent on having a heart that is right with GOD.

"Create in me a clean heart, O GOD; and renew a right spirit."
Psalm 51:10

Seek the LORD and His strength, seek His face continually. Remember His marvellous works that He hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth.

1 Chronicles 16:11-12 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, these verses of scripture in 1 Chronicles Chapter 16 allude to the fact that seeking the LORD is a matter of the disposition of our heart. When we place the LORD GOD first in all of our decisions in life, His wonders will appear and marvelous things will start to take place. I encourage the Church to put ever effort forth to seek the face of GOD before choosing to make any decisions large or small, and watch the LORD move on behalf of His obedient Children.

King Saul is a person who started out seeking the face of GOD but lost the focus and began to seek the advice of mediums rather than the Lord. As a result of the decision made by King Saul he lost the kingdom and eventually his life. Anytime we the Church fail to make GOD the number one source of information as it pertains to the direction for our lives, we will surely fail and in all cases it is because we believe we have a better plan than GOD.

Moses sought the face of the LORD on the Mount Sinai forty days and forty nights and the residual effect of being in the presence of the LORD showed on the face of Moses. "When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn't aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the LORD." Exodus 34:29 NLT

We will only receive the Glory of the LORD when we seek His face continually, GOD will make His presence known in us the obedient Children of the LORD; just as he did with King David, and his son Solomon who later became King. They chose to seek the face and the direction of the LORD and they saw marvelous works and wonders from GOD. However, when they refused to abide in GOD'S will for their life, the judgment of GOD was their result. The word of the LORD is true, and when we keep our mind focused on Him, he in turn will keep us in what is known as Perfect Peace.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's suffering; that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1 Peter 4:12-13 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, as followers of Christ Jesus, don't think that it is strange when we suffer with of issues, or problems in our lives. This is part of our duty, and when we overcome them, two things will take place. First of all GOD is glorified and secondly our faith in Jesus Christ is strengthened and will increase. We are to rejoice in the knowing that we are partakers in Christ suffering. Sounds a bit strange, however, but we will also become partakers in His Glory and receive our crown as a faithful servant.

As Children of the Most High GOD we should not add problems to ourselves by being a busybody involving ourselves in other people's matters. We will find absolutely no comfort in suffering when we bring it upon ourselves by our own sin and foolishness. When we encounter suffering let it be for the truth, the gospel, and our adherence to the doctrine or standards of our faith in Christ Jesus.

Judgment is coming, however GOD is going to first start with His house and family the Believers; however our trails and corrections will not last long and let us thank GOD for that. But for the ungodly their situation will be eternally harsh as they will be in the state of damnation, and will perish.

Remember, GOD is the keeper of our souls, and as for those who suffer doing the will of GOD, his promise of eternal salvation will be your reward. GOD is faithful and true to His Word.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess or sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 1:8-10 KJV

Scripture Insight

Beloved, GOD is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. He is purity, wisdom, holiness, and all glory belongs to Him. We will find no imperfections in GOD, for He represents the pure and perfect light which manifests itself through Christ Jesus.

To walk in darkness is to live, act and practice behavior contrary to the teachings of Christ Jesus. Our behavior dictates who we really are in Christ. We may believe that our regular attendance in Church service is all we need to dwell in this beautiful light. However the truth of the matter is a vast majority of Believers of Christ live immoral and impure lives outside the walls of the Church house; we lie, cheat and steal and this does not represent the true and living GOD we believe in.

We the children of God must walk in the light of Christ Jesus, the light that cleanses us from all sin, impure and immoral behavior. The pure light that reminds us of His sacrifice made on the Cross at Calvary where our sin and the sins of the world were washed away by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Beloved, I encourage the Children of GOD to walk in the light Christ, confess our sins before Him; for He is faithful and just to forgive us. His love is without boundaries and does not condemn, but frees us from unrighteous living and brings the faithful and obedient soul to a life of holiness.
